Giovanni Palmieri First arrived in the USA on 21 November 1912. The ship's name was the Madonna. It left Italy from the port of Naples.

He was traveling with his father, Pasquale Palmieri age 44.
And brother- in- law Giuseppe Giannetti who was 23 and married to Giovanni's sister Assunta.
They were heading for Derby CT. to Giovanni's brother Ferdinando.
Giovanni traveled back and forth to Italy several times. Where he stayed a few years in-between trips.
On one return trip to the USA, dated May 15 1920, He was now married and traveling with his wife Teresa Giordano Palmieri
Family lore states Giovanni was a jockey in Italy, and did the same in CT for a while. He raced buggies.
Later he owned a fleet of trucks.
