Obituary


CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla. - James E. Pullen, Jr., 76, died suddenly on Sept. 25, 2012, in Crystal River, Fla.
Jim was born in Imlaystown, N.J., and graduated from Allentown High School.
He lived in the area until 2005 when he and his wife began their journey to see the country in their recreational vehicle.
Jim was a painting contractor for 53 years.
He was a past president of the New Egypt Lions Club and a Deputy District 16-3 Governor.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Pemberton and a past deacon in the De Bows and New Egypt Methodist churches.
For more than 30 years he bowled in several area bowling leagues; he also played baseball on area teams,
retaining his enthusiasm for baseball by watching the Tampa Bay Rays. Jim was an avid deer hunter, fisherman and photographer.
Son on the late James E. Pullen, Sr., Jim is survived by his wife of 14 years, Beverly Pullen of Crystal River, Fla.;
his mother, Ruth G. Pullen of Southampton; a son, James E. III ( Stephanie) of Haledon; a daughter, Debra (Dan) Caporale of Levittown, Pa.;
five grandchildren; one great-grandson; two sisters, Arlene Pullen of Mount Holly and Lynn (Mitch) Cooper of Leander, Texas;
three stepdaughters; 15 step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; three nieces; three nephews; two aunts; two uncles;
three special cousins, Ralph, Gene and Frank as well as numerous other cousins.
A Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7., at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 So. Main St. Allentown.
The Rev. Dan Gilbert of the First Baptist Church of Pemberton will officiate. A celebration of life memorial
service was held in Crystal River, Fla., on Oct. 2, 2012.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association, 1 Union St., Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691..
