John Goff, Jr, 88, of Fort Pierce, Florida, died Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Royal Palm Convalescent Center in Vero Beach, FL. He was born April 5, 1922 in Imlaystown, New Jersey and had been a full time resident of Fort Pierce for 6 years, coming from Enfield, CT. Mr. Goff was a veteran of the United States Merchant Marines having served during WWII as an Engineer. He retired as Inspector from Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Co, Hartford, CT, after 30 years of employment. Mr. Goff is survived by daughters, Janet Jan of Fountain Hills, AZ, Kathy Derench of Ellington, CT, Mary Jane Lenert of Windsor, CT and Jeanne Meskell of St. Cloud, MN; companion, Doris Henry of Fort Pierce; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Alice Pitkin Goff in 2006. A private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Thomas S.
