John W. Dunfee, 75, Independence, died May 30, 1992, in the Independence Regional Health Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Speaks Midtown Chapel; burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to Outreach International or the oblation fund of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Mr. Dunfee owned A&M Cleaners in Independence from 1951 to 1989. He was a member of the Blue Ridge congregation of the RLDS Church and was its bishop's agent for 37 years. He served in the Navy. He was born in St. Joseph and lived in this area most of his life. Survivors include his wife, Alberta Dunfee of the home; a son, John W. Dunfee Jr., Blue Springs; a daughter, Jean Hodson, Independence; a brother, Orin Dunfee, Gladstone; three sisters, Mary Ann Davidson, Kansas City, Mildred Keown, Independence, and Betty Jane Riggs, Houston; and five grandchildren.
