DESERTED from the subscriber the 20th of June, a certain Andrew Nelson,belonging to General Pulaski's legion, about 18 years of age, five feet six inches high, has black hair and eyes. He is supposed to be in the pines near Imlay's-Town making tar, or at the salt-works in Monmouth. Whoever takes him up and delivers him to the keeper of Trenton gaol, shall receive SIX DOLLARS reward and reasonable charges, paid by July 1

1793, Andrew Nelson appears on Upper Freehold Twp. tax list in Monmouth County, one poll & 2 cattle.
1813 and 1817, Andrew Nelson buys packets of land in Upper Freehold Twp, first from Thomas & Richard DeBow, executors of John Debow, the second from Thomas Debow alone. 1st was 37 and 80/100th acres, for $63. Beginning at the corner of Richard Steepy's farm. Jane 25, 1813. Second, Jan 29, 1817, 50 and 59/100th acres on the north side of a branch of Andrew Race's Run near Grover's ten acre meadow.
March 1813, Upper Freehold Twp. Andrew Nelson registered his earmark: a half crop off the under side of the near or left ear. This from the Hutchinson Papers, page 4469
On Dec 24, 1829, Andrew Nelson of Upper Freehold Twp, Monmouth Co NJ, wrote his will. His estate was inventoried Jan 11, 1830. After leaving $5.00 to his son John, to be paid 1 year from the date of his own death if John was still living, Andrew left his real and personal property to be divided between his beloved wife Phoebe and the 4 children of his son Elisha: Andrew, Michael, James, Robert, and Elizabeth Ann Nelson. The only thing Elisha got was the use of the children's share of the land until the youngest son reached the age of 21. At that time the land was to be sold & the money equally divided among these grandchildren.
There is a marriage record in Monmouth County, NJ, for Andrew Nelson & Phoebe Van Hise. August 8, 1829.
His will states that his beloved wife Phebe shall have 'all the goods that she brought with her to my house when we were married - which may or may not indicate that the marriage was fairly recent. He also leaves her have his real estate (later he says she gets the part with the house) for use during her life, to be left to her issue by him if any, otherwise to Elisha's children.
