ALBEE. Elizabeth Drew ``Liz'' or ``Betty'' Albee, 37, of Bristol, beloved daughter, sister, and friend, died peacefully at Hartford Hospital, surrounded by family and friends, Wednesday (Jan. 18), after a valiant fight against breast cancer. She was born Aug. 3, 1957, in Hartford, and grew up in Manchester, graduating from Manchester High School in 1975. She attended Central Connecticut State College, and lived in the Farmington-Bristol area for the past 15 years. She was employed by the State of Connecticut since 1990, as a revenue agent for the Department of Revenue Services. Liz was known and loved for her indomitable spirit and great zest for life. She will be sorely missed by her parents, Burton and Irene (Pitkin) Albee of Manchester; her sister, Marianne Albee DiAntonio of Colorado; her brothers, John Albee of Texas, and Peter Albee of Florida; and six loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday, 10:30 a.m., from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St., Manchester, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11:15 a.m., in the Church of the Assumption. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home today, 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o your local chapter to assist with breast cancer research or aid.
